Please share your views to help non-medic trained aesthetics practitioners carry on their work!

This is a request to members of the Ravenzara Community, and anyone who downloaded one of our Free Guides.

I don't know if you are aware but there is currently a government initiative, and a public consultation, which is proposing to stop non medics from offering aesthetics treatments.

Anyone who knows me personally, or has had an aesthetics treatment with me, will know that I take immense pride in my work. Safe practice is of the upmost importance, in addition all the advanced studying I do and the thousands of pounds I spend on training, is to ensure my clients receive the best and safest possible treatment.

Please can I ask you to have your say on the public consultation - click the link!

If the aesthetics industry is restricted to medics only (and by medics I mean soley doctors and dentists - as even nurses are considered to be healthcare professionals and not actually medics) the cost of aesthetics treatments will dramatically increase and become potentially prohibitively expensive for all clients.

The deadline for the consultation is the 28 October, but please don’t delay! It is essential that we all have a say on what happens now.

The industry needs to be regulated, absolutely, but they need to start with regulating products and training at entry level and meeting progression requirements. This needs to start with training providers, and establishing qualifications across the board.

You may not know this, but in practise, medics and non medics all do the very same aesthetics courses! And no-one is aesthetics trained until they are aesthetics trained!!!

Not to mention the beauty industry has a huge amount of artistic flair which is very much needed when carrying out your treatments, which shouldn’t be just ‘clinical’.

I have personally had many clients tell me that the experience of an aesthetics treatment with me, compared to a doctor, was much better.

Of course, there is good and bad on both sides of the fence, which is why I believe that if the bar is set the same for us all, then the aesthetics industry would be a far safer place!

So may I please ask you to fill in the public consultation, so we can keep offering our professional aesthetics treatments for you.

Any questions, please just get in touch with me. Thank you so much in advance,

Rachel xx
